DEREK RAINS TROPHY - results

Results of the Derek Rains Trophy played at Barnham Broom on 6th August :- 

 Derek Rains refereed the final and believed this to be the best final he could remember watching and that the golf was excellent. The winner Jamie Smith had 6 birdies in 8 holes, and runner- up Matthew Bacon went round in  69.

1st round; Charlie Bright won 2 & 1 v Kane Sawyer; Calum Slowther won 5 & 3 v James Phillips;  Matthew Alden won 5 & 4 v Tom Covell;  Matthew Bacon won 4 & 3 v Simon Stevens;  Luke Frary won 2 & 1 v Daniel Russell;  Adam Lewarne won 2 & 1 v Frankie Plume;  James Barratt won 1 up v George Morris;  Jamie Smith won 2 up v Tom Clements.

2nd round;  Bright won 1 up v Slowther;  Bacon won 3 & 2 v Alden;  Frary won 1 up v Lewarne;  Smith won 6 & 5 v Barrratt.

Semi- finals: Bacon won on the 22nd v Bright;  Smith won 3 & 1 v Frary;

FINAL;  Jamie Smith won 1 up v Matthew Bacon

3rd/4th place play-off; Charlie Bright won 5 & 3 v Luke Frary
