Norfolk County Golf Union MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP 2008 - results

The matchplay Championship is eligible to the top 16 players in the previous years Order of Merit, and was played this year at Royal Cromer on the weekend of 3rd / 4th May.

1st round results:   Steven Chick (Dunston Hall) won 2 & 1 v James Palmer (Royal Norwich);  James Phillips (Thetford) won 1 up v Simon Peckford (Thetford);  Ian Hardy (Kings Lynn) won 5 & 3 v Alex Beckett ( R.Norwich); Mark Eglington ( Dereham) won 3 & 2 v Sean Brady (R.Norwich);  William Beeson (Hunstanton) won 5 & 3 v Austin Brydon (R.Norwich); Dan Henderson (R.Norwich) won 1 up v Scott Boon ( Gt. Yarmouth & Caister);  Paul Holland (Kings Lynn) won 1up v Kevin Webb (The Norfolk);  James Ollington won (R.Norwich) 4 & 3 v Nick Paling (R.Norwich)

2nd Round  results:  Chick won 6 & 5 v Phillips;  Hardy won 3 & 2 v Eglington;  Beeson won 4 & 2 v Henderson;  Ollington won 3 & 2 v Holland.

Semi Final: Hardy won 2 up v Chick;  Ollington won 7 & 6 v Beeson.

FINAL:  Ian Hardy beat James Ollington 6 & 5.
