ROGER TROWER MEMORIAL TROPHY

The Royal Norwich staging of their  Men's Amateur Open Competition for the Roger Trower Memorial Trophy due to be played on Saturday, 9th August, 2008 has had to be cancelled due to an apparent lack of interest.  Only 15 entries had been received prior to the closing date for this Norfolk CGU/Alan Boswell Order of Merit  event.

The Club have decided that the competition will be replaced by an 18 holes event to be held on Saturday, 27th September, 2008 which will be run by Past Captain Peter Clarke a close friend of the late Roger Trower deceased in whose memory the Trophy has been presented.  Entries are invited from Roger's old friends and any other players who have good memories of him, with a Handicap of 12 or better. 

This revised competition will still remain a Norfolk CGU/Alan Boswell Order of Merit event. There will be prizes for both the Scratch and Handicap winners with the Roger Trower Cup will going to the winner of the Scratch Competition.

The entry fee is £20 per player with Royal Norwich members  paying a reduced entry.  Entry forms can be downloaded from the Royal Norwich Website ( www.royalnorwichgolf.co.uk, your club office, from the Royal Norwich Club office or by e-mail from Peter Clarke on peter.clarke470@ntlworld.com
