The season’s Divisional winners contested the Semi-finals and Final on a bright and breezy day at Weston Park on Sunday, 4th October. Play commenced at 8.15 with the semi-finals when Royal Cromer faced off against Kings Lynn whilst The Norfolk took on Costessey Park A.
At the completion of the morning’s play Royal Cromer achieved victory in the first semi-final 4 ½ to ½ although the Norfolk gave them a run for their money with all games going to the 17th or 18th holes. In the second semi-final, Kings Lynn had a more comfortable result against Costessey Park A side winning 3 ½ to 1 ½ with one game all square after 18 holes and the remainder finishing out in the country.
After a drink and something to eat Kings Lynn entered battle against Royal Cromer just after 1.00pm in the Final. Kings Lynn showed their intent with Mike Easy gaining an early win to put one point on the board. Royal Cromer hit back with a win at the 15th hole by Ian Hogg to equalize matters. The remaining three games all went to the 17th hole. Kris Coop’s win for Royal Cromer put them one game ahead but with both Luke Johnson and Matt Evans triumphing, the Kings Lynn team finished victors winning 3 games to 2.
