Clymer Bowl - 2017

Great Yarmouth & Caister were hosts for the 2017 season opener for the Norfolk County Players. On a suitably windy day on the links, 32 players made up the field. The format of the day was 18 holes  betterball with 16 pairs (8 pairs per side)  made up from the County 1st Team, 2nd Team, Seniors and U18 Juniors.  Scoring for both teams was, as one would expect at this level, really good with birdie exchanges being the order of the day. The result hinged on the traditional Myhill format with the winning team emerging victors by just two holes. All in all a tremendous start to the year. All players sat down to enjoy a post match meal in the company of Club Captain Alistair Low who recounted the exploits of JPA Clymer after whom the trophy is named. JPA  ( Bully to his friends) was a prodigious winner of trophies all over the County and beyond and his reputation as a golfer of note preceded him wherever he went.

The final results were:

Simon Clark & iain Yule  (3&2)            v  Richard Wilson & Mark Williamson
