Brad Smith Golf Day

The golfers of Norfolk turned out in force to support one of their own.

Royal Cromer Golf Club and The Norfolk County Golf Union came together to co-host an event in support of Brad Smith, a County and Club player of considerable note who has had the most testing of health issues to overcome. Brad is a strong young man with a very positive outlook and this together with the support of his family, friends and colleagues around him will serve him well.

228 players, in teams of four, split into two shotgun starts, some teams starting at 9am and others starting at 2pm in what turned out to be a fantastic day.  The weather was a match for the magnificence of the Royal Cromer Course, with wonderful sunshine and what must be a first, no breeze at all.

The morning shotgun was won by a team from Costessey Park with 97 stableford points and the afternoon shotgun was won by Royal Cromer with an equally impressive score of 95 stableford points.

Brad managed to come along in the afternoon to present the prizes to the winners and receive the acclamation of his many friends. A very special day and one long to remain in everyone’s memory.
